Busy fall but many buyers waiting

We are of the opinion that waiting for the maximum inventory in the metro west suburbs often means waiting for the prices to peak. Buyers, however, seem to be communicating that they are very interested but not ready to take the plunge in the fall. We’ve heard from so many that they are interested but “aren’t in a rush” or are waiting until the spring market opens up more opportunities.

We counsel buyers to be cautious about this strategy if they are adverse to competitive bidding. The fall is a great time to buy! When sellers are facing a long, cold winter, they can feel more pressure to sell. And closing before the holidays can mean a special new year for the new home owner
